Jimi Considering that the ambient genre is quite atemporal, this record strikes me as especially atemporal. I am very impressed.

Like tea :) Favorite track: Decadence I.

Dotflac In Triptych, belief, decline and compromise unfold, sewing, unsewing and restitching their links made of analogic accidents to unveil the eternity hidden behind their restrained loops, and then sing their own vision of life, their brightness and their fractures, their routines and their dreams, their innocence and their melancholy.

And so, Tomonari's light but also ours can pass through a prism made of crystal, to detail all their shades contained within. A fresco of the dark side of the moon. Favorite track: Concession II.

about

'Tomonari Nozaki‘s brilliant triple EP series has been unfolding over the course of three months. Now that the series is complete, we can step back and appreciate its overall tapestry...If this were a movie, (Concession) “Pt. II” would be the scene that justifies the ticket. Remember that wobble? It’s there at the end of the first part, and subsumed in the second by dramatic strings reminiscent of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Flight of the Bumblebee”. These are met by slower, darker organ tones, which offset the former by introducing a sense of grandeur. When listening to this piece, one begins to make connections to earlier pieces, reevaluating them as prelude and foreshadow. And now the tapestry is complete. Every step has been important, but the destination ~ this piece ~ is the payoff. Tomonari Nozaki is to be congratulated for his composition, but Forwind is to be congratulated for its patience ~ the slow reveal created a sense of anticipation, which was rewarded with a stellar finale.'

Richard Allen - A Closer Listen

'The whole is re-imagined into a dish fit to set before Basinski buffs and Hecker checkers. The series’ sheer sweep sees Nozaki’s sound gather in sono-dramatic force, cementing detail, texture and integration of its parts'

Alan Lockett - Igloo Magazine

Triptych sees Tomonari Nozaki end the year on a high with the hugely well received Credence, Decadence and Concession EP’s merged into a fully actualised spectacle on Forwind's final physical release of 2016.

Keeping the much deliberated sequencing of the original productions intact, Triptych extends and completes the original vista with a freshly tailored closing piece ‘Coda' that brings Tomonari’s opus to completion. After the increasing intensity of the first 60 minutes the new composition adds the final waypost to the lush and epic audio landscape as it dissolves into the ether with something that is both splendid and graceful. A fitting finale.

Triptych will be available in a very limited run of digipack CD's.
